Memory Quilt for Arco Judge

This is the quilt I made for my neighbor out of her dad's shirts. He was a judge in Arco Idaho.

This poem I wrote at her request and we had it embroidered in the middle quilt. block. The embroidered flag representing his military service and the gavel for his years of service as judge. The photos are 3 of her favorites. The snaps on the pockets are visible here. They were sewn in the quilt so that family members can write notes to leave treasured memories.

This is my friend and neighbor, Glenda,  impersonating Mr. Wilson from Home Improvement.

The whole effect. The shirts were cut in 6 inch squares and sewn together in Around the World pattern. This was a really great project that I enjoyed doing for a truly great family. It was machine quilted by Shelley Day and finished in time to give for Christmas. If you look closely, you may see more pocket.s
